Lady A Abbey Ale

Ladylike presentation

Lady A is Welbeck Abbey Brewery's first Belgian Dubbel-style beer, named after Lady Algernon Gordon-Lennox, Duchess of Portland, who lived on the Welbeck Estate from 1943 - 1977. Briefed to create an engaging label presentation that would also convey Welbeck's brewing pedigree, I took full advantage of the heritage in the Lady A name and associated imagery, to design an identity that combined traditional Victorian elements with the values and vision of the Welbeck brand. The distinctive 'swing top' bottle and high quality of the printed labels further helped reinforce the premiumness and craft appeal of the beer.
