New River Brewery

Flowing with ideas

Disappointed with the lack of decent cask beer on sale near their homes, John Bourdeaux and Jeremy Alter established New River Brewery in Hoddesdon on the banks of the New River, the 400 year old man-made aqueduct that brings fresh drinking water from the Hertfordshire countryside into central London. Nick Pettit Design was tasked with creating a brand identity that would engage customers and add long-term value. The resulting work, which takes its inspiration directly from the New River by using illustrative elements to tell the story of its journey from source to City, has created a style and a language that fits perfectly with the brewery’s ethos and audience.

"Nick Pettit Design has had a significant effect on our start-up business. Our brand identity, pump clips and website have helped quickly establish our offer and given us an image that is original and memorable next to the competition.”
